About OGMamaCreates

Hi, I’m the person behind OGMamaCreates.

I’m an artist, graphic designer, maker, mom, Midwest native, and someone who’s always had a hard time leaving materials alone once I see what they could become.

These days I live in Cornwall, New York in the Hudson Valley, where most of my work happens in a home studio that’s usually covered in wood scraps, pressed flowers, half-finished projects, and whatever idea I decided to try that week.

OGMamaCreates grew out of that space.

Some ideas turn into handmade products.
Some become DIY kits.
Some turn into CREATE + JOY pop-up events where people gather around a table and make something together.

How it started

The studio didn’t start in New York.

The first version was a 450 square foot mother-in-law suite in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Small, crowded, and full of projects. Over time it grew into the 1000 square foot studio I work out of now.

The tools have changed a bit. The piles of materials haven’t.

You’ll still find reclaimed wood, scrap acrylic, leftover ribbon, paint, and bins full of things that might look like junk to someone else.

To me they’re just future projects.

The name

OGMamaCreates comes from the two people who made me a mama in the first place — Ori and George.

They’ve grown up around craft messes, creative experiments, and the idea that making something with your hands is always worth the time.

Being a mom shaped this whole thing more than anything else.

Kids should know how to make things. Adults should remember how.

CREATE + JOY

One of the ways that shows up now is through CREATE + JOY.

These are mobile creative pop-up events hosted in local spaces around the Hudson Valley.
Kids and adults sit down together and work on projects side by side.

No drop-offs.
No pressure to be “artsy.”
Just materials, guidance, and a table full of people making things.

Each event is a little different.
Some are family projects.
Some are toddler sessions.
Some are adults-only creative nights.

Everything is designed and prepared in my home studio before heading out into the community.

A few other things about me

I’m a graphic designer by training and still love the design side of things just as much as the hands-on work.

I’m originally from the Midwest, which probably explains my love of practical creativity and making use of materials that still have life in them.

I also have a soft spot for animals, second-life materials, messy work tables, and the kind of creativity that happens when people stop worrying about doing something “right” and just start making.
